11th Jan 2010 - Sadly due to a recurring injury, Thorkell was unable to continue with the Bass playing. He remains a good friend, and im sure will appear in some shape or form in a future song or two. As he helped write the lyrics for the song "Battle of Svoldr" (working title) he will be jointly credited when it gets released.
Danelaw has been joined by new 4 stringer Carl Smith (Thorkell). He is damn keen, and its nice to have someone new to work on material with. We have tested his strength on the oars, his drinking capacity ( still trying to get him onto REAL ALES ) and Battle readyness, and things are so far looking good. We have been teaching him the old tracks & also almost finished a new track and as soon as its ready we will post it on our Myspaz.
I finally have a new track for you all to hear. It can be found on my Myspace - www.myspace.com/danelaw Its the 1st new track ive released in about 6 years I believe. Written about 2 years ago, I finally got around to re-recording it. Will have ptII available in the coming days too. Drum programming was done by Mark Brawn, the original Asatru / Danelaw drummer. And my brother in law Jonathan Cooke helped me out with Mixing, So a big thanks to the pair of them. Everything else done by me. Cheers to all the people who have emailed me with their support, especially those that constantly give me incouragement or kick me up the ass and tell me to get more stuff released, haha!!! you guys rule. \m/ Rob.
Next week I will be posting 2 new tracks on Myspace. They are tracks I recorded a couple of years back, and have recently re-recorded. The tracks are 'My Father' & 'My Father ptII - Avenged'. Mark Brawn has also moved closer to where I live recently, so I hope to get back together with him a lot more often and work on some more NEW material. Im also re-recording some other unreleased tracks, some of which I had to rewrite from scratch due to a harddrive failure. So hope to have even more tracks up in the near future. Regards, Rob
